What is Soma?

Soma is an AI-powered Teaching Assistant that is set to revolutionize the higher education landscape. Designed to provide 24/7 support for students and instructors while retaining "professor-in-the-loop" capability, Soma elevates the learning experience, making it more accessible, efficient, and collaborative for the entire classroom community.

Soma empowers instructors to easily create their own AI chatbot within their Nectir class channel by simply uploading their chosen course materials, such as the syllabus or weekly readings. All data is stored securely and in compliance with FERPA/COPPA.

With this information, Soma transforms into a personalized AI TA and tutor for each student, accessible 24/7 via the Nectir class channel.

  3. Once you're in the channel, click on the nectarine icon in the top right to open the Soma tab.

If you do not see the Soma icon in the top right corner, this may mean you are not the channel owner.

  4. Toggle Soma on and click "Add files from Computer" to upload your desired course materials to teach Soma.
