How to add users through search

Search users and add them to your Nectir channel or discussion

  1. Open the channel or discussion you wish to add a new user to.

  2. On the top right corner of your workspace, click on the icon of two people to open up the "Members" tab.

  3. Select "Add Users" from the bottom of the sidebar.

  4. Search by the name or username of those you wish to add to your channel.

  5. Once you find them, click the blue "Add User" button and they will be added to your channel or discussion!


How to add users through invite link

An alternative way to add users directly into a chat is to send them a link to the channel (ex: ucsb.nectir.io/channel/yourchannel) or an invite link if your space is private. (????)

  1. Select the channel or discussion you wish to add a new user to.

  2. On the top right corner of your workspace, click on the icon of two people to open up the "Members" tab.

  3. Select "Invite Link" from the bottom of the sidebar.

  4. Copy your channel's invite link and share that link with those you want in the channel.

  5. Optional: Click "Edit Invite" to set an expiration date for the invite link or change the number of times the link can be used. Be sure to "Generate New Link" if you make any edits.

  6. Once users click on the invite link, they will be automatically added to the channel. If they do not have a Nectir account, they will be prompted to create one.
